The Fill Your Cup Journal Prompts are back after a month long break during December.
Not only are they back, I am trying out making a printable version of each prompt so if you would like to try out coloring and playing you can print out your own. The link to this week's word and questions is below. I'd love for you to give it a try and let me know if it prints alright. I printed mine, cut out the word square, and glued it into my journal.
I was going for a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch square for the word, the same size as a Zentangle, since I've been inspired by the “tangles” my mom has been drawing – she's shared this neat Zentangle book with me (Amazon link).
The Kids are happy for me to get back to journaling with them again too. I've got to remember this is one of those activities we can do together that gives me a break. They may or may not participate in any sort of art journaling – but they like that I'm with them and that we're all doing art.

Once a month, instead of a simple Fill Your Cup journal prompt, I will be adding to this series of Art Journal Prompts for Kids. These prompts will still include four questions for ‘Grown Ups' to answer too, so if art journaling isn't your thing, no worries – you can ignore the art journal portion and skip down to the bottom of the article for the journal prompts when you see these art journal posts.
Ok, on to our first Journal Prompt of the New Year. This is a big one for me this year. I thrive on rhythm, but am a champion at mucking it up too. Hoping for a little gentler rhythm this year – less ‘run until I hit a wall then crash', and more ‘gentle waves', sound good?

- What rhythm is already in place in your life that you could build on? What's already working well? Is any part of your current rhythm unhealthy or something you'd like to change?
- When are your energy levels high and when are they low? What activities are important to do during high energy times? When is it most important for you or the kids to relax and have some down time?
- What are the seasonal rhythms that you'd like to follow or that circumstances make you follow? Are there rhythms you may as well stop fighting against?
- What would you like to add to the rhythm of your week with your family?
