Creativity in a Kit – Artterro Eco Art Kits

When I was researching Arts and Crafts Kits to write a comparison post this winter, I wanted to find a company that offers arts and crafts kits that older kids will like.  I was delighted with what I found at Artterro, and even happier when I received two kits from them.  It was nice to find that what showed up in my mailbox was as neat as it looked in the picture online.

Artterro makes Eco Art Kits which are “loved by kids and creative adults.”

They're right – these kits spark your imagination and the creators do a good job of writing instructions that open your mind to possibilities.

Creative Art Kits good for older kids - Artterro

The Wool Bug Kit comes with wool felt shapes, needle and thread, and embellishments.  The materials are high quality with beautiful colors.  I really liked the feel of the wool balls and all of the kids liked looking through the beads and ribbon included.

This was a fun project to do with my five year old who likes to sew.  I did a lot of the work, but he was involved the whole time choosing items and stitching what he could.  The  wool bug kit would be a great gift for a child just beginning to sew.  An older child would have no trouble making their own bug after getting inspired by the materials and suggestions in the instruction pamphlet.

I enjoy the way the instructions for the Artterro kits are written.  They guide you in how to make the craft, but leave you feeling perfectly ok with experimenting and adding your own touches.  These are not the kits you want if you are looking for step by step instructions for each craft.  The instructions give you plenty of “how-tos” on the creating process for the particular craft, but they leave the end result up to your imagination.

Homemade Bubble wand - Artterro kit

We also made homemade bubble wands.  The bubble wand kit is recommended for ages 8+.  It takes a fair amount of dexterity and hand strength to bend the wire.  I made the wand above.  My nearly 8 year old made his own.

The boys have been using these as magic wands since making them.  I like how the Artterro kits help you make little treasures – I think our art pieces will last and be enjoyed for quite a while.
