Books to Inspire

I came into the new year nursing a cold after nearly a month of one or more family members being sick in one way or another.  Blah.  This past week found me in serious need of some inspiration since my house is a wreck, we are *still* not 100% healthy and…well…isn't that enough?

I used a trip to our beloved used book seller Bookmen's, and a trip to the library to create a big pile of books that are getting me going again.

Inspiration for mothering:

  • Momfulness by Denise Roy
  • Busy but Balanced by Mimi Doe
  • Raising your Spirited Child by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka
  • Steady Days by Jamie C. Martin
  • Organized Simplicity by Tsh Oxenreider

Inspiration for Organizing:

  • Tsh Oxenreider's book listed above
  • It's Hard to Make a Difference When You Can't find Your Keys
  • One Year to an Organized Life

And then, less exciting but still helpful- I checked out the book Healthier Without Wheat. I am already gluten free and the boys have been pretty low gluten because of that, but my three year old seems to be getting migraines, so we're trying a gluten free trial with him and I just needed to read more about gluten intolerance to help myself be motivated.

Along those lines (health is the link I'm going for here…) I've been SO frustrated with expensive dental care after having to get  crown in December. So after doing some online research I came across the book Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye and have been reading that.  The information is helpful, fascinating and scientific.  I may need to try making my own Xylitol mints like the one this clever mom came up with.

With all those good, informative, motivating, productivity-boosting books piled on my bedside table I am ready to face 2011.  I could, however, use a good fiction book to read!
